AUBURN, AL -- Today, Conservative Republican Tom Whatley, who serves in the State Senate representing District 27, released his first campaign ad announcing his re-election efforts. The ad focuses on Whatley’s proven conservative credentials, as well as his service to our country.

“Tom Whatley spent his life defending freedom, he’s not going to stop now,” the ad opens referencing his enlistment in the Alabama Army National Guard in 1988, where he’s served 33 years, including his current rank as Colonel. The ad goes on to say, “Tom will continue to cut wasteful spending, take on radical DC socialists, and fight to protect life and our second amendment rights,” citing Tom’s commitment and record of fighting for the values that matter to those in Senate District 27.

“My record is clear: I’ll stand up against any policy that seeks to threaten our conservative values. It’s really that simple. I work hard everyday to ensure the people of District 27 know they have a fighter in me,” Whatley said, going on to say, “It is an honor to represent the people of East Alabama. We’re one of the fastest growing parts of the state in not only population, but economically as well, thanks to President Trump and the Conservative Alabama Legislature, and that's something that I am proud to be a part of.”

The ad concludes by saying that, “Tom Whatley listens, reforms, delivers, and will always put our Alabama Christian Conservative values first” emphasizing Whatley’s commitment to working with local and state leaders, to continue improving the quality of life, education, and economy of Senate District 27.

Senator Whatley represents Auburn University, the district's largest employer, and Troy University Phenix City, who both have received increases in funding year over year for the last 4 years. Senator Whatley, a well-respected leader in the Senate, was integral in passing the largest education budget in Alabama’s history, protections for our farmers, pro-life reforms, and many other conservative reforms.

“I’m proud of our accomplishments in the State Senate and in Alabama. DC bureaucrats are doing everything they can to take our freedoms away and ruin the best economy we have ever seen. I’m not backing down. I’ll take on anyone who is willing to threaten that, and i’ll never back down.”
